Polystyrene (PS) film and sheet
- PS sheets are lightweight, high-strength, and durable. In light of their excellent stiffness and transparency, PS films/sheets are often used for thermoforming and small-film products. They have excellent transparency, high thermoformability, and superb printability.
PS sheets are used in a variety of packing, lamination, and printing applications. Some of their grades have also been approved for direct food contact. Major PS sheet applications include windows in boxes of different sizes, poster and mark laminates, high-transparency packaging, protective films of screens, and car display screen components. The biggest use of PS is probably in food packaging. PS has high steam and gas permeability (breathability) and represents a suitable choice for fresh food packaging.
